Wang Juntao, July 11, 1958-activist of the Chinese democracy movement. He successively participated in the Fourth Five-Year Movement in 1976, the Democracy Wall Movement in 1979, the University Election Movement in 1980 and the Democracy Movement in 1989. In 1976, he was detained for more than seven months in high school. Sentenced to 13 years in 1989. On April 23, 1994, he went to the United States and successively established and led the China Institute of Strategic Studies, the Constitutional and Political Consultative Conference and the China Democracy Party National Committee. He also served as the deputy editor of "Economics Weekly" and the chairman of "Press Freedom Herald". He holds a bachelor's degree in nuclear physics from Peking University, a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University, and a PhD in political science from Columbia University.
